Course objectives
At the end of the course students be able to: properly use the microscope; make to native and permanent biological preparation; treat biological material for microscopic observation; establish and maintain infusorian culture; collect and preserve biological material; prepare and survey plant material as well as establish, describe and maintain herbarium; establish and maintain breeding of animals suitable for elementary school; use filed guide to animals and plants; make sterile culture media; inoculate and cultivate yeasts and bacteria; stain (vital test) and observe yeasts cells in different cell cycle stages; detect mitotic cells in onion roots; understand the theories on the origin of life on Earth; look up literature and use online sources.

  • 2. Preparation of biological materials.
  • 3. Production of native and pernament biolocical preparations.
  • 4. Vital dyeing of preparations.
  • 5. Collection and preserve of biological material.
  • 6. Herbarium - foundation, servicing.
  • 7. Filed guide.
  • 8. Animal breeding.
  • 9. Sterile culture media preparation.
  • 10. Inoculation and cultivation of microorganisms.
  • 11. Microscopy of the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
  • 12. Microscopy of interphase nuclei and mitotic division in onion cells.
  • 13. Microscopic observation of autoorganized structures formation and coacervates formation from yolk.
