- Course objectives
- Students will be able to interpret literary pieces as well as justify and support their views using their knowledge of literary studies. The aim of the subject is to help students master methods of literary studies and offer them an insight into the principles of the literary science. The output of the seminar is a written assignment: a critical essay of about 10 pages. Students focus on an analysis of a piece of contemporary prose of their own choice. First they present their analysis orally in the seminar, at the end of the term they hand in a written assignment.

- Teaching methods
- In the form of a seminar (interpretations and analysis of selected works), students will get a deeper insight into poetics of a literary work. The main method of teaching is a seminar.

- Type of completion: credit Credit requirements: students hand in a written assignment - a critical essay of about 10 pages. Students analyse a piece of contemporary prose of their choice. First they present their analysis orally in the seminar, then, at the end of the term, they hand in a written version of their work.
