Course objectives
At the end of this course, students should be able to:

- to edit chemical text quickly and easily (chemical formulas of organic and inorganic compounds, figures of laboratory devices, mathematical formulas, tables,...),
- to collect data and to process results of measurement (connection of measuring instruments with PC, program Excel etc.),
- to write long texts (large documents, styles, lists etc.),
- to get acquainted with work on study materials (chemical informatics, scanning, work with pictures, hypertext,...).
Syllabus
  • 1. Fundamentals of typography.
  • 2. Word: editing of long text, work with large documents.
  • 3. Excel: graphs, repeated calculations.
  • 4. Work with pictures.
  • 5. ChemSketch.
  • 6. Fundamentals of chemical informatics.
  • 7. Chemical educational and motivational software (examples).
  • 8. Connection of PC with other instruments (scanner, camera, measuring instruments, including practical demonstration in a laboratory).
  • 9. Work on credit materials according to instructions of the teacher, consultations.
