- Course objectives
- The aim of this course is to introduce students to Soviet and Russian cinematography.Each seminar will be dedicated to a certain theme. Another course objective is developing intercultural communicative competence and speech skills of the students through authentic audiovisual materials.
- Learning outcomes
- By the end of the course, students will acquire knowledge of Soviet and contemporary Russian film production and will be able to discuss different genres and themes of Russian cinematography.

- During the semester students will be introduced to films from the following thematic areas:
- 1. Contemporary Russian comedy
- 2. Detective films
- 3. Fantasy films
- 4. Dramas
- 5. War films
- 6. Romantic films

- During the semester students will watch 6 movies (at least one from each topic studied at the seminars). After that students will write an essay about each movie and submit it (the due date will be set by the teacher).
