Course objectives
The student will know the problematics of the speech therapy; of the communication process and the speech development. The student will learn more about the etiology, symptomatolgy, classification, diagnostic and therapeutical process of the communication disabilities.

Syllabus
  • Speech therapy, its conception and interprofessional cooperation. Communication process - verbal and nonverbal communication and its importance in our life. Ontogeny of the speech, influence of the psychological and social factors. The concept, classification, symptomalotogy, diagnostic and methods of the therapy of particular forms of the communication disability. Working with computer programs and tools for developing communication skills.

Teaching methods
consultation, homework, class discussion, the course is supplemented of the work with software and materials for the stimulation of the communication ability
Assessment methods
70% compulsory attendance; final written test (contains it is necessary to successfully cope with 75 % correct answers); oral exam, reflexion of semestral paper
