Course objectives
The aim of the course is to describe the specifics of special education diagnostics at people with physical disabilities. Emphasis will be put on interdisciplinary cooperation.
Learning outcomes
Expected outcomes: - The student is orientated in somatopedic terminology; - Can select and describe the diagnostic methods and tools used in the somatopedic diagnosis; - Is able to characterize diagnostic domain for pupils with physical disabilities; - can explain the somatopedic specifics of diagnosis according to age period.
Syllabus
  • Warp: - the conception of special education somatopedic diagnostics, the target group (selected types of physical disability and disease). - Diagnostics in partical periods of development (early age, preschool age, school age, maturity). - Diagnostic methods and tools (clinical, general, recording sheets). - Areas of diagnostic domains for students with physocal disabilities. - Specifics of school readiness, school attendance delay. - Specifics of pre-professional preparation of students with physical disabilities . - Consulting services, interdisciplinary cooperation. - Presentation of compensation aids, discussions. - Case studies - presentation, diagnostic procedures, discussions.
