Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide students with a theoretical basis for the assessment and evaluation of pupils' results and their learning process with an emphasis on formative assessment; to understand the advantages and disadvantages of individual forms of assessment and to apply the acquired knowledge in practice in the evaluation of pupils' results and their learning process.
Learning outcomes
Students:
Understand the issues of formulating learning objectives and creating criteria for evaluating the result.
Assess the student's knowledge, analyze it and select adequate goals and criteria for assessment and the type of assessment.
Apply it in their own practice, critically assess the suitability of selected procedures.
In the process of reflection, they consider the impact of the chosen procedure on the student's learning and on the formation of his/her knowledge and seek alternative procedures for further steps in their own teaching.

  • The importance of feedback for the personal development of students.
  • Definition of basic types of assessment, connection of evaluation and assessment to the concept of the school.
  • Formative assessment and personnel conception of the pupil's personality development.
  • Three pillars of formative assessment: work with learning objectives, assessment criteria and descriptive feedback.
  • Diversity of forms of evaluation and their use in practice.
  • Pupils' self-assessment as an essential part of learning supportive assessment.
  • Comprehensive developing assessment: assessment for learning.
