Course objectives
- to develop all four language skills (reading, speaking, listening and writing) and create stress-free environment for the students to practise in
- to teach the students to analyze the language with respect to language teaching
- to help change the role of the student from a learner to a model and a potential source of information
- to provide the students with model situations from the learning/teaching process and show them the possible application of various strategies and teaching techniques
Learning outcomes
The students will develop their language skills in all areas, they will be able to use more complex and accurate structures and will expand their range of vocabulary. They will learn to analyze and assess various materials with regard to teaching the language. The students will submit two essays, make a presentation, and will continue to compile their student portfolios (set up the previous semester).

Teaching methods
Oral projects, written assignments, class discussions, practical exercises, individual projects, online group discussions. This semester will cover Units 5-8 from the book Outcomes Advanced: Student's Book (2nd edition).

Assessment methods
The general pass mark for this course is 70%. Throughout the semester there will be various tasks that make up the Continuous Assessment.

The continuous assessment will be based on work done in class as well as out-of-class assignments and a final test during the examination period. The out-of-class assignments include discussion online, the setting and progress towards personal language goals, and written essays.

In order to qualify to sit for the final exam at the end of the semester, students must pass the Continuous Assessment during the semester (they must reach 70%).

The test at the end of the semester will consist of reading, writing, listening, and spoken interviews. Students need to reach 70% in both the written part and the spoken interviews.
