- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is that the student is capable of interpreting compositions of different periods, with an emphasis on the ability to distinguish specific features of different forms of musical language. The aim is that the student has acquired the ability to play styled accompaniment of songs, to create a prequel and a sequel to songs. At the end of this course the student will be able, on the basis of the established skills and habits in singing technique to give students the methodological foundations for the pedagogical work with the voice of children and adults.
- Learning outcomes
- The Student is able to interpret the minor works of the area of the world of the piano-making of different eras, is able to improvise an accompaniment to folk and artificial songs. At the end of this course the student will be able, on the basis of the established skills and habits in singing technique to give students the methodological foundations for the pedagogical work with the voice of children and adults.
- Syllabus
- Scales, chords, studies, cadences, interpretation of piano pieces: L. van Beethoven: Sonatina G major, 1st movement or J. S. Bach: Small Prelude F major BWV 927. Accompaniment of 20 folk or artificial songs. Creating the prelude, interlude, postlude in songs. Playing vocal exercises: up-scale, chromatic modulations in all keys. A performance (a committee of teachers) is ambodied in schooling. The student plays one of mentioned obligatory piano pieces and one folk song at a fast pace. 1. Scale 2. Chords 3. Etudes 4. Přednesová song 5. The principles of creating overtures, interludes and craft to songs 6. Vocal exercises 7. Accompaniment to folk song no. 1 – 4 8. Accomp. to folk song no. 5 – 8 9. Accomp. to folk song no. 9 – 12 10. Accomp. to folk song no 13 – 15 11. Accomp. to folk song no. 16 – 18 12. Accomp. to folk song no 19 – 20 Breathing, articulatory and vocal technical exercises, practice of the costal - diaphragm breathing, singing posture, practicing a proper formation of a tone, pronunciation of the vocals in the middle range, linking of the consonants and vocals, exercises to start a tone in the head register, practicing the voice technique through singing the folk songs.

- Practical exercises, consultations, studies of recommended music literature

- Student plays piano pieces (L. van Beethoven: Sonatina G major, 1st movement or J. S. Bach: Small Prelude F major BWV 927), accompaniment of 20 folk songs with prelude, interlude, postlude. Playing vocal exercises: up-scale, chromatic modulations in all keys. Homeworks. Duty to attend the classwork. practical and teoretical examination
