Prerequisites
Basic knowledge from special needs education and Disorders of intellectual development, a good orientation in the education system.

Course objectives
The goal of the course is to adopt the current concept of terminology, education, counselling, and diagnostics in children/pupils/students with disorders of intellectual development and autism spectrum disorders. Students will gain insight into various interventions.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course student will be able to:
- have a general knowledge about people with disorders of intellectual development and autism spectrum disorders;
- apply special educational approaches in education in inclusive and special schools.
Syllabus
  • Legislation for educating children and students with special educational needs in the Czech Republic. Support measures. Educational and psychological counselling services. Students with disorders of intellectual development and autism spectrum disorders in education. Individual support strategies and specifics in teaching and counselling.
