- Course objectives
- Theretical principles and practical applications of genetics in pharmaceutical sciences are thaugt. Special attention is paid to the use of genomics, proteomics and bioinformatics for new drug targeting and development, to genes causing human diseases and/or influencing the course of diseases, to genetics of pathogens and of the host/pathogen interactions, to genetic variation to drugs and to the use of molelecular techniques for diagnostics and for production of drugs and vaccines. Basic information on therapeutic cloning, xenotransplantations and genetics of laboratory animals is provided as well. External experts in specific areas are invited as speakers covering specific topics.
