- Course objectives
- The aim of this course is to familiarise students with the Italian morphological system, in particular lexical classes, inflection and word formation. Students will learn to identify lexical forms, their characteristics, use in texts and in practical language.
- Learning outcomes
- By the end of the course, students will have acquired awareness of the main semantic and morphosyntactic features of the various lexical classes. Furthermore, they will be able to apply this knowledge to both the practical use of the Italian language and its theoretical description.

- Teaching methods
- Lectures: definition and discussion of notions and terminology; specific examples. Labs: study groups and in-class presentations. Exercises on all the phenomena covered.
- Assessment methods
- Written exam (open questions and exercises on the course's contents). Both the development of the course's contents and the acquisition of the Italian language, according to the level, will be evaluated. 80% attendance is required to take the written test; alternatively, the study of additional material to compensate for non-attendance must be agreed in advance.
