- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to equip students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for diagnosing the psychological traits and states of adults. Students will be briefly reminded of the principles of constructing psychodiagnostic methods and psychometric properties. They will be introduced to various psychodiagnostic tools used to assess mental functions and personality characteristics of adults, along with their applications and limitations. The course also includes practical training in the administration, evaluation, and interpretation of selected psychodiagnostic methods. Furthermore, it emphasizes familiarizing students with adhering to ethical standards in the conduct of psychological assessment. Throughout the course, students are guided to critically assess psychodiagnostic methods, the results of psychodiagnostics, and to reflect on the limitations of diagnostic tools.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, students will gain a systematic overview of psychodiagnostic methods. They will be able to identify and correctly use psychodiagnostic tools and tests designed for the adult population, while reflecting on their limitations. Students will acquire knowledge about the administration, evaluation, and interpretation of method results, and will have the opportunity to practice working with selected methods. They will be able to plan and carry out a diagnostic process in accordance with ethical guidelines using appropriate psychological diagnostic methods. Students will be capable of integrating and critically evaluating the results from various psychodiagnostic tools, assessing the validity and reliability of diagnostic methods, and reflecting on the limitations of both their own competencies and the individual tools used. Additionally, they will be able to compile the results into a psychological assessment report.
