Course objectives
Reading selected parts of the New Testament, a stylistic and grammatical analysis.
Syllabus
  • 1. Introduction to questions of the New Testament historical and cultural relations; the New Testament language characteristics. & 2. Comments on the work with a critical edition; drill and practice. & 3.-12. Reading and interpretation of selected passages (the length of text discussed in each seminar roughly corresponds to two pages of text in the Nestle edition) - a grammatical analysis of the text (morphology and syntax: main emphasis is laid on understanding and interpreting different linguistic phenomena of Hellenistic Greek) - an interpretation of the historico-cultural relations - presentation of a paper.
