- The aim of the course is a systematic explanation of morphologic and syntactic phenomena of the normative Ancient Greek grammar. Following topics will be dealt with during the course: alphabet, phonetics and phonology, inflexion of nouns (a-stems, o-stems, plosive consonant stems, pronouns), inflexion of verbs (present and future tense, active and mediopassive aorist) and syntax (the most common types of infinitive constructions, content and optative clauses, conditional sentences - "real" and "unreal"). At the end of this course students should be familiar with the basic phenomena of the Ancient Greek grammar.
