Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide students with the basic knowledge of French (A0-A1 CEFR).
At the end of the course students should be able to:
pronounce and distinguish French phonemes;
introduce him/herself and others and ask and answer questions about personal details;
interact in a very simple way in everyday situations (shop, street, cafe);
talk about the past;
ask for informationm, make an appointement.

Teaching methods
All the basic methods of CLT programme (Communicative Language TEaching)are used: individual, pair, group activities (conversation, practice, drill). Audition. Homework extended to e-learning self-study (elf.phil.muni.cz).
Assessment methods
1. Written final test (grammar, vocabulary, translation), minimum pass level 70%.
2. Submission of six written translations before the end of semester is obligatory (see ELF).
3. Attendance at 16 seminars minimum during the semester is obligatory (seminars take place twice a week).
4. Completion of all mandatory activities (exercises) in the ELF (see conditions in the aplication "Course completion").
