This course is primarily for students from the Faculty of Arts. The aim of the course is to achieve a B2 level (based on CEFR). For capacity reasons, priority will be given to students coming from the CJVS1B course.

Course objectives
The course is focused on academic skills and professional language. During the course all language skills will be practised (listening, reading comprehension, oral and written presentations). Authentic recordings and texts are used. The aim of the course is to achieve a B2 level (based on CEFR) and to become acquainted with academic and specific language.
Learning outcomes
The student will be able to: - present a brief presentation on a topic in his/her field and lead a debate - present a piece of news on current topic - write a summary of the presentation - write an argumentative text about a controversial topic

Teaching methods
Block session. Presentations, discussion, homework, etc.
Assessment methods
During the semester: 1. Glossary. 2. Recorded news presented in class. 3. Four essays. 4. One minipresentation.
Exam period: 1. Abstract for an oral presentation. 2. Presentation on an academic/specific topic. 3. Essay on an academic/specific topic. 4. Written summary.
Presentation on academic topic can be held in person or in a distance mode due to current epidemiologic situation and the Czech republic government resolutions.

General note: Výstupní úroveň B2 podle ERR.Tento kurz je určen studentům, kteří chtějí absolvovat zkoušku z jazyka po jednom semestru výuky. Kurz je zakončen zkouškou písemnou (test) a ústní (prezentace).
Information on course enrolment limitations: Podmínkou pro zápis do kurzu je znalost španělštiny na středoškolské úrovni nebo adekvátní znalost získaná na základě jiné formy studia. Přednost při zápisu mají studenti, kteří absolvovali předcházející kurz.

There is a written placement test at the beginning of the semester!

Tuition is synchronous, taking place online, regularly, every week, according to the valid timetable for the semester using the application MS Teams or ZOOM. Students must have basic equipment – a computer or tablet, internet connection, a camera and a microphone. Students will receive an email with instructions and an appropriate links before the start of the course.
