- Course objectives
- The main aim of the course is to transfer the theoretical knowledge of general subjects of teaching qualification to the certain conditions of teaching the Russian language and literature. It is predominantly connected with the skill of concretizing elements that motivates to study this language and the culture in general, to understand the basic differences of Russian as a Slavic language from the Czech or Slovak and to be able to work with them while teaching. The ability to judge the suitability of the particular methodological approaches for teaching different linguistic and cultural phenomena also belongs here, that is with regard to age and psychological characteristics of the students and to specifics of the study aim (including, for example, specialized language courses)
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course the students will be able:
- to be acquainted with the concrete ways how to prepare and to lead classes of Russian language and literature for Czechs in various groups and motivation of the students and to focus on gaining practical knowledge while teaching;
- to prepare get own practical experience that are usable in practice with the students of different levels of education in leading classes;
- to discuss about the theoretic approaches of teaching Russian language and literature and to compare them with the praxis in schools and to deduce the reasons for their own methods in particular situations;
- to respect the specific features of the mother tongue (Czech/Slovak) and the object language (Russian) when preparing certain studying topics. - Syllabus
- 1. Definition of the aims of the course regarding to the aim and the characteristics of students’ group.
- 2. The analysis of the specific characteristics of the students and the choice of the appropriate methods including the determination of the adequate way of the knowledge control.
- 3. Planning classes according to the aims for a given time period (class, quarter of the year, half-year, school year).
- 4. The preparation of the teacher for classes regarding the motivation for deepening the knowledge of Russian language, literature and culture.
- 5. Teaching the productive and reproductive activities in the classes when adjusting singular teaching phenomena.
- 6. Choosing the appropriate methods for the process of teaching of particular phenomena (for example, training of vocabulary, phonetical skills, theoretical knowledge about the grammar of the object language etc.).
- 7. The types of classes and their characteristics, possibilities of activisation in classes regarding the specific features of teaching subject (Russian language and literature).
- 8. Mastering of concrete knowledge and skills including their fixing.
- 9. Evaluation of the measure in which the aims were reached (choosing the appropriate method of the knowledge/the skill control.
- 10. The specifics of teaching Russian as a Slavonic language in Czech/Slovak environment.
- 11. Checking of the skills and the feed-back for the students.
- 12. “Classical” classes in schools and the changes of it in other types of educational programmes (language courses etc.).
