Course objectives
The course acquaints with basic knowledge of Media Studies in three blocks.First block initially approximates key theories and concepts with respect of nature of media communication, its roles, effects and power in modern communities. Second blocks offers an insight in the structure of media industry from the standpoint of its historical development, economic fuction and legislative framework. The last block of course attends to the description of media mechanism, stereotypies and other practices, which are present in editorial boards of printed, eletronic and so-called New media. The purpose of the course is to contribute to media literacy and to awareness of public property in media communication.
