Course objectives
This seminar acts as follow-up to Translation Theory and Practice. The seminar includes an introduction to the translation practice of moderately difficult texts handling a wide range of topics as well as an outline of the most important translator principles and techniques. Students will analyze the appropriateness of their chosen means of expression.

  • Topics for translation: 1 - Popular non-fiction (Cartouche, Henri IV) 2 - Scientific texts (legal, archeological, linguistic, musicological) 3 - Journalistic material, subtitles 4 - Fiction
