Course objectives
The lecture gives information about the historical development of seals and coates of arms, their classification and typology. It offers information about fundamental attributes of seals and coaet of arms (royal, aristocratic, ecclesiastic and municipal). It explains essential concepts of genealogy. Students can get information about the most important scientists in the field of Heraldry and Sfragistic. Semminars are focus on practise – especially on precise description of seals and coates of arms (blazon) and on self-work with the genealogical springs (it means with church register above all).

  • Introduction itno basic types of seals and coats of arms
  • Basic typology of genealogic research
  • Most significant researchers of the field
  • Seminar aims at practical mastery of the rules of blazon
