Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to describe the ethnogenesis of Slavic nations. They should be able to analyze ethnic issues and ethnic conflicts (the Balkans).
Syllabus
  • Ethnogenesis of Western Slavs (Czechs, Polish, Sorbs, Polabians).
  • Ethnogenesis of Eastern Slavs (Russians, Belarusians, Ukrainians).
  • Ethnogenesis of Southern Slavs (Slovenes, Croatians, Serbs,
  • Macedonians, Montenegrins).
  • Ethnographic regionalisation and differentiation.
  • Typical demonstrations of traditional culture.
