- Course objectives
- Main objectives can be summarized as follows:
critically evaluate historical management systems, judge their advantages and disadvantages and apply partial managment approaches in contemporary organisations;
on the basis of gained information assess the degree of work related stress in various professions;
understand specific needs of unemployed people and offer them suitable psychological help
define main components of organisation culture and understand their significance in the organisational context;
to find main applications of psychological knowledge in the field of managment and organisation. - Syllabus
- 1. development and subject of work and organizational psychology;
- 2. psychology of working environment, working load;
- 3. genesis of organizations, definicion of the organization in psychology;
- 4. a)mechanistic approach to organization (e.g. Weber, Taylor); b) Hawthorne studies, Hawthorne effect (Mayo); c) humanistic approach to organization (e.g. Maslow, McGregor); d) modern approach to organization (e.g. Ouchi) e) postmodern approach to organization (e.g. Morgan, Clegg);
