- Course objectives
- Introduction to the French Morphology.
- Syllabus
- Basic morphological concepts (morpheme, allomorph, root, affix) Word formation in French (derivation, composition, borrowing, neologisms, abbreviation). Guessing unknown words in French text. Noun. Nominalization.

- Teaching methods
- Lecture: exposition and definitions of basic terms and their exemplification on different types of specific text (recordings), proceeding from diverse registers. Seminar: application of theoretical knowledge on authentic texts (recordings). During their presentations students show their ability to interconnect on their own their theoretical knowledge and practical analysis of a specific text
- Assessment methods
- The course is taught as both lectures and seminars. Attendance and participation in the course (min. 80 %). Credit: active participation and attendance is required (80 %) as well as written test (minimum: 60 %), where students show their ability to analyze and explain phenomena in accordance (or in conflict) with the standard. In irresolute cases the teacher can discuss with the student the presentation exposed by the student in class.
