Course objectives
Main objectives can be summarized as follows: Latin grammar and vocabulary (units 12-23 of the prescribed textbook).
Learning outcomes
After passing the course the student will be able to: - translate basic Latin text with dictionary - aplication of basic Latin grammar - speak about some chosen text of Latin litarature (read in Czech translation)
Syllabus
  • Third and Forth Conjugation Verbs: Indicative, Imperative, and Infinitive. Third and Forth Conjugations: Future Indicative Active; Forth and Fifth Declensions: Nouns. Numerals. Pronouns Ego and Tu. Content clauses: use of accusativus / nominativus cum infinitivo. Comparison of Adjectives.

Teaching methods
Every lecture requires homework preparation in reading the assigned study literature. After teacher's presentation of the general and particular features of the subject, students are guided to interpretation of the chosen extracts, and class discussions follow.
