- Course objectives
- Philosophy as an analysis of ontologic, metaphysical, ethical, artistic, aesthetical, logical problems. Discussion of chosen arguments, concepts, superstitions. Approach to philosophy in terms of criticism of its arguments. An introdiction of philosophy al a vital branch dealing with moral, society, culture, knowledge, being, art, God, and nature.

- Student will be able to: - explain the essence of fundamental philosophical problems - characterize basic philosophical directions - explain the problems of philosophical terms
- Syllabus
- Ontologic proof of God, discussion. Cosmologic proof of God, discussion. Ontologic statut of universals. Poppers three realms. What is logic about. What is metaphysics. Concept of objectivity. Philosophy as history of itself. Postmodernism. Sokals affair. Analytic philosophy versus phenomenology. Machiavelli and/or politics. Value of works of art.

- Lectures which requires homework preparation in reading the assigned study literature. After teacher's presentation of the general and particular features of the subject, students are guided to interpretation of the chosen extracts, and class discussions follow.
