Course objectives
The course in the Master´s study program is aimed at further enhacing of the communication skills and the theoretical knowledge of the students - level C1/C2.
Learning outcomes
The students will learn about the terms text cohesion and coherence, will learn which parts of lexis participate on them, will learn to recognize situations when the text doesn't meet the criteria of text cohesion or coherence. They will further learn how to understand text, how to choose relevant information from it and how to write summaries and abstracts. On the example of short texts with linguistic themes the students will learn how to translate specialized texts.

Teaching methods
Exercises in language competences, textual cohesion and coherence, written text comprehension, text summaries.
Assessment methods
Attendance: compulsory. Assessment: Written exam. By the end of the semester the students must hand in all translations assigned in the course of the seminar.
