Course objectives
After the emplanation with basic acpect of oral interpretation the students works with various kind of text to be able to apply knowlidge about the motods of translation and analyze specifics of this kind of translation.
Learning outcomes
Staudents will be able to: - apply principes of oral interpretation in praxis
- orient in various kinds of texts
- deal with tchniques of consecutive interpretation.
Syllabus
  • 1. Introduction to the theory of interpretation (consecutive, cabin, simultaneous). 2. Basics of consecutive interpreting (interpreter and speaker role, interpreting competencies). 3. Basics of consecutive interpreting (adequacy and translation equivalence, typical interpretation mistakes). 4. Guided tour of the city (based on journalistic texts). 5. Internet news (based on journalistic texts). 6. Company - negotiation (based on commercial and economic texts). 7. Company - signature of the contract (based on commercial and economic texts). 8. Exhibition (based on advertising texts). 9. Fair (based on advertising texts). 10. Student´s presentations.
