- Course objectives
- The course will focus on aspects of relations between post-war British society and culture (primarily popular culture), including social geography, popular music, film, consumer culture and sport, as well as considering theoretical approaches developed in the same period.
- Learning outcomes
- By the end of the course the student will have written an essay displaying their ability to analyze the possible cultural significance of a given form of cultural expression in the period covered.During the participants the course will be encouraged to develop the skills of analyzing and discussing the cultural significance of a given phenomenon or trend using relevant evidence and of comparing trends in their own cultures with those analyzed in relation to British culture.

- Teaching methods
- Teaching by group work and class discussion in the form of seminars.
- Assessment methods
- Assessment will take the form of class contribution (40%) and an essay of 7-10 pages.(60%).The essay has the status of an exam and needs to be registered for. Essays must be submitted in hard copy form.
