- Course objectives
- Slovenian/Croatian/Serbian/Bulgarian language for beginners, basic vocabulary, grammar and phonetic specifics of Slovenian/Croatian/Serbian/Bulgarian. Practising and deepening of the acquired knowledge.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of this course students should be able to describe new grammar phenomena acquired in this semester and use the knowledge in spoken and written interaction. By the means of acquiring new vocabulary and grammar they can create text or speak about related topics. Students are able to understand written text and interpret it.
- Syllabus
- Slovenian: Diminutives, local case, graduation of adjective, past tense. Expresing the way we feel. Asking questions, explaining. Future tense. Conditional mood. Saying what we think (I think, I have the impression...), saying why (because). Continuation of a story. Synonyms, antonyms. Imperative. What we like (I like), what we dont like. Modal verbs. Propositions. Writting a letter to congratulate. Telling a story using certain verbs and changing them. Verbal aspect. Writting an invitation and excuse.
- Croatian: Cases, adverbs, imperative, past tense, present tense.
- Serbian: Plural nouns, palatalization, cases and prepositions, feminin nouns ending with consonant, reflexive pronoun "sebe, se", present tense of reflexive verbs, imperative, perfect tense, conversation topics according to textbook.
- Bulgarian: 1. Tenses in Bulgarian language. 2. Past tenses. 3. Passive mode. Prepositions. 4. Verbs - transitive and intransitive. 5. Grammar exercises. 6. Tests. Word formation. 7. Specific prepositions. 8. Bulgarian temporal system specifics in contrast with Czech. 9. Specific usage of Bulgarian past tenses. 10. Verbs and specific prepositons 11. Infinitive. 12. Revision.

- Teaching methods
- Seminar (four hours per week), home preparation, there will be a combination of teacher-led activities and student-centered/group learning activities employed during seminar.
- Assessment methods
- Regular attendance, homework and home preparation required. Upon fullfilling all requirements listed the students must pass a final test.
