Course objectives
The aim of the course is to deepn the knowledge and language competence in practical Spanish.
Learning outcomes
The student gets a B1 level according to the European Reference Frame.

  • 1. Introduction. Revision.
  • 2. Buying and selling. Writing an add.
  • 3. Shopping. Indefinite pronouns.
  • 4. Expression of impersonality. Mediterranean cuisine.
  • 5. Giving advices and instructions. Affirmative and negative imperative.
  • 6. Ser vs. estar.
  • 7. Wish expression. Present subjunctive.
  • 8. Speaking about labour conditions.
  • 9. News. Estaba + gerund vs. preterite vs. imperfect.
  • 10. Making excuses. Indirect speech.
  • 11. Speaking about a duration of the actual activity. Llevar + gerund.
  • 12. Speaking about the future. Doing predictions. Simple future.
  • 13. Opinion expression. Final summary.

Teaching methods
All the basic methods of CLT programme (Communicative Language Teaching) are used: individual, pair, group activities (conversation, practice, drill). Audition. Homework extended to e-learning self-study. 99% of teaching is in Spanish. The main focus is on speaking.
