- Course objectives
- This course is the fourth and last one from a four semester series of courses of Japanese for students outside of Japanese Studies. Its goal is to further deepen the students' knowledge of Japanese. The students will improve in active and passive use of written and spoken Japanese. They will learn to use more complex expressions and they should be able to understand basic Japanese not only in common everyday situations. Thanks to the lower number of students, in the last course, more space is given to the practice of converstational skills. Kanji script will also be a part of the course.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course students will be able to
autonomously construct longer Japanese sentences;
translate the meaning of simple Japanese statements and to create his/her own statements;
apply learned vocabulary, grammatical rules and sentence patterns in basic communication;
distinguish basic categories of Japanese grammar;
read and write about 130 kanji characters;
judge the accuracy of applying learned grammatical rules, vocabulary and sentence patterns in the most common life situations. - Syllabus
