- The aim of the course is to introduce the basic concepts of intercultural communication to the students, which should open them new perspectives of using English in the global context. The culture is not seen only as in sense of nations, but also in the sense of religion, generation, gender etc. The students will consciously take a critical view of the presentation of cultures in media and of functioning of a homogenous / heterogenous society. The course will also give them an insight into relationships between cultures through experiential learning and project work.
- Learning outcomes
- Students will understand the concept of culture on several layers. They will be given tools, theory and practical tasks that will enable them to view other cultures from different perspectives. Extra added value of the course will be acquiring basic videoconference communication skills.
