- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to present the basic rules of translation from Serbian/Croatian to Czech and learn new lexical items from the areas of linguistics, politics, history, law, economy, natural sciences etc, both in specialized and popular-scientific areas. Also, theory and praxis of translation of fiction literature will be part of the seminar.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course students will be able to demonstrate the knowledge of Bulgarian, have a broader and more solid understanding of key aspects of translating, have a broader and more solid understanding of key aspects of comparative study of Slavonic languages, and will be familiar with Slavonic grammar.
- Syllabus
- Every class will have this structure: 1. short presentation of a translation problem (based on a project from a translatology study); 2. reading of the translated text* with comments. *The texts will be translated individually, based on teamwork.

- Teaching methods
- Papers and discussion on specialized topics, home-prepared translatological work, analysis of translation. Seminar requires consistent home preparation in form of translation of selected texts and preparation for presenting important parts of translatological literature. Attendance is compulsory.

- Requirements for granting the credit: active participation on translatological analysis, paper presentation (using AV technique).
