Course objectives
The Czech Educational Policy course is a follow-up to the compulsory Educational Policy course. Out of the themes dealt with in the compulsory course, this course comprises themes that are topical or problematic in terms of their solution within the practical educational policy and at the same time those that were not given enough space in the compulsory course. The themes will be presented and discussed from the perspective of the European context and the specific situation in the Czech Republic. Although the core syllabus is set, the choice of topics takes into account the students’ interest that they will have a chance to formulate at the beginning of the semester. The themes will be therefore to a considerable extent variable. The course will also include a discussion of partial topical educational policy topics with support of continuous monitoring of media and web portals dealing with education (Academia, Edu-in, Scio, ...).
