Course objectives
The aim of the B.A. thesis seminar is to assist students to compose the B.A. thesis and to prepare for its successful defence.
Learning outcomes
After the completion of the course, the student shall be able:
- to create a hypothesis, an outline, and a time frame for the qualification thesis in linguistics;
- to research upon and work with relevant literature in the field, according to the thematic focus of their thesis;
- to compile relevant research materials through adequate methods;
- to describe, analyze, interpret, and assess the gathered material;
- to write a qualification thesis within the required length and quality standard in terms of contents, language, and formatting, in accordance with the requirements for bachelor theses in the field of linguistics.
Syllabus
  • 1. To get acquainted with relevant academic sources.
  • 2. To gather the material (if relevant for the purpose of the thesis).
  • 3. To analyze the material and write individual chapters.
  • The structure of the course will be the result of the tutorials.
  • Students of specialized study programmes choose topics of their theses in accordance with their specialization.
