- Course objectives
- In this course, the vocabulary of the students is expanded and consolidated. New and familiar words are offered on the basis of reading and listening texts, rehearsed at home via Quizlet and practiced in class on the basis of interactive (speaking) exercises. In this way, the receptive and productive skills are also practised. This optional course complements the compulsory course NLI_05 Jazyková cvičení I/2 and helps students reach level A2(+).
- Learning outcomes
- Students can read simple texts tailored to their level (A2).
Students can talk about the content of simple texts.
Students know new words (including conjugations and inflections) that they can use in appropriate contexts.
Students can have conversations about everyday topics.
Students acquire knowledge about customs and (cultural) activities in the Netherlands, such as "Koningsdag" (King's Day). - Syllabus
- In 2025, this course consists of two parts:
- A block course taught by guest lecturer Kitty Sterkendries (ILT, KU Leuven) in the period 31 March - 4 April (4 x 90 minutes).
- Seminars during the semester by lecturer Sofie Royeaerd (4 x 90 minutes). The classes are structured around three booklets from Intertaal's ‘Reading Dutch for non-native speakers’ series.
