Course objectives
The exam paper is to check the student’s abilities to translate a text from Spanish into Czech. It is to be written immediately before the state examination, students are therefore to enroll in the same semester during which they are taking the state examination. Examination dates are published in the IS.
Learning outcomes
The exam paper will check the student’s abilities to translate from Spanish into Czech and to comment on a challenging text.
Syllabus
  • Translation is written in the computer lab in Word (or outside the university via MS Teams). You can use online dictionaries, terminology databases, encyclopedias, parallel texts. The exam paper is allotted 3 hours of writing time.

During their presentations students show their ability to interconnect on their own their theoretical knowledge and practical analysis of a specific text.

Written translation with commentary. 2 pages approx. of the source text.
