Course objectives
After the successful completion of course, students should be able to: - discuss the problematics of microscopic structure of individual tissues and organs. - work with information to link the knowledge of microscopic anatomy to macroscopic anatomy and to physiological processes.
Learning outcomes
Students should be able to: - determine and describe microscopic structure of tissues and organs - compare histological differences in selected species of vertebrates - assess structural changes initiated by experimental conditions - evaluate selected pathological processes in laboratory praxis

Teaching methods
Interspecies comparison is brought out on model species of reptiles, birds and mammals. Furthermore, specialized staining methods and their use in research will be introduced to students during practical training. Erudition of tissues and organ microscopic structure enables students to explore structural changes initiated by experimental conditions or pathological processes. Integral component of the lecture is practice (Bi8200 Microscopic anatomy of vertebrates - practice).
Assessment methods
The course is closed by oral exam. Students have to recognize and describe blind sections. Moreover, they will prove their knowledge in oral exam in dialogue with the teacher, classification makes the teacher according to correctness and perfection of the answers.
Language of instruction
