- Course objectives
- At the end of the course the students are able to: Understand and explain developmental processes; Identify structures formed during embryogenesis; Interpret and explain recent knowledge and problems in regenerative and reproductive medicine; Formulate and discuss hypothesis about ontogenesis and evolution.
- Syllabus
- Embryology, pract. course 2 hours weekly. Regenerative abilities in animals. Reproduction: cell reproduction the basic for the growth and development of organisms. Asexual reproduction of Protozoa and Animalia. Sexual reproduction and differences, gametogenesis, fecondation and fertilisation. Alternating reproductive cycles. Ontogenesis - embryonic, postembryonic direct and indirect development in main animal phylla. Planned is the excurssion into a special embryology laboratory or laboratory of assisted reproduction. Intensive searching for the newest data in the stem cell science will be demanded.

- Students need to attend all tutorial sessions and have a presentation on selected embryology topic. Keeping records from lessons is compulsory.
