Course objectives
At the end of this course, students should be able to understand basic genetics of the yeast model organisms. They should be also aware of the most recent topics of number of aspects of yeast molecular biology.
Syllabus
  • Yeast basic characteristics. Yeasts as cytological model. Yeast cell wall. Cell division cycle. Genetics of yeasts. Molecular biology of mating process. Polarity of cells. Mitochondrial genome. DNA metabolism and chromosomes in yeast cell. Cytoskeleton.
