- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students should be able to understand characteristics of microscopic fungi (moulds); basic terminology, life cycle; morphology; ecology and occurence in nature; students are made familiar with the status, function, and forms of the occurrence of fungi in ecosystems.

- methods of isolation, cultivation and determination of micromycetes
- Zygomycota - life cycle, systematic treatment, development of zygosporangium, morphology of asexual reproduction, ecology and occurrence in nature
- Ascomycota - general characteristic, life cycle, teleomorph - anamorph concept, systematic treatment, morphology, ecology, importance and occurrence in nature.
