- Course objectives
- There are discussed a historic and present importance of regional sources of raw materials in the course. Further is presented an overview on genetic types of raw materials in the region, its geologic structure and dependence on development of geologic units, if any metallogenetic units.
- Syllabus
- 1.History of mining in Moravia. 2. Oil, gas. 3. Coal, uranium. 4. More important occurrences and historical deposits, subeconomic resources (Fe, Pb-Zn, Cu, Au, Ag), subprovinces and metallogenetic regions. 4a. Economic and/or metallogeneticaly important endogenic mineralizations (Zlaté Hory deposit, post-Variscan polymetallic mineralizations). 5. Deposits of industrial minerals and rocks - gipsum, limestones, shales, graphite. 6. Deposits of construction raw materials - stone, gravels, brick earth, slates. 7. Geological aspects of distribution of ores, industrial minerals and fossil fuels in the region.
