- Course objectives
- The objective of the microbiology course is to provide the students basic knowledge of terms and principles of general and applied microbiology, including virology. Students should be able to describe differences between procaryotic and eucaryotic organisms, understand relationships between microorganisms and other organisms and between microorganisms and environment. At the end of the course students should be able to mention practical applications of microorganisms, including the most significant representatives of this group.

Metabolism of bacteria - chemoorganotrophic and chemolitotrophic bacteria. 7. Metabolism of bacteria - photolitotrophic bacteria, anabolism. 8. Bacterial genetics. 9. Bacteria and their significance and applications. 10. Cyanobacteria. 11. Yeasts. 12. Microscopic fungi. 13. Viruses and priones.
