Course objectives
At the end of this course, students should be able to cultivate, identify and manipulate yeast cells. They will find out about cell morphology during mating and meiotic processes. They should be able to prepare special cultures (used for DNA and protein extracts preparation).
Syllabus
  • Microscopy of yeast cell. Cell wall. Preparation of spheroplasts and protoplasts. Yeast mating and sporulation.
