Course objectives
The deal of the lecture is to introduce students to the basic principles of regional policy in the agriculture, on the general level and also in concrete applications. They will inspect and debate common agriculture policy of the EU. Analyze the conditions of agricultural policy of the Czech Republic. Identify regional differentiations and examine their impacts for the Czech Republic.

  • Regional policy, history and importance The relations among general and agricultural regional policy The history of regional policy in EU states The regional policy of EU in relation with agriculture, situation and perspectives The structural funds, history and importance, characteristics, mechanism of impact The concept of agricultural policy in CR before and after EU entrance The development plan of agriculture and countryside, EAFRD The principles of spatial structuralization in EU states, NUTS, LFA regions The regionalization and evaluation of agricultural regions, by criteria’s in EU states, in CR, The possibilities and conditions of regional development, the aids of non-production functions The Regional programs. The programs of rural resumption, program SAPARD, OPA, HRDP, The Program of rural development of CR 2007-2013 The construction of regional programs, knowledge and experience.

Teaching methods
The basic Teaching methods are lectures, supplemented by contemporary methods such as for example e-learning. The course consists also of homework of students on actual subjects.
Assessment methods
Attendance to seminar is obligatory. Grading is based on seminar work and oral exam from lectures.
