Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to: identify those invertebrate taxa, which were presented during the course; draw invertebrates under microscope and describe particular structures; classify invertebrates and vertebrates into the system of animals.
Syllabus
  • Introduction, Rhizaria, Excavata, Amoebozoa, Chromalveolata
  • Chromalveolata - Ciliophora
  • Porifera, Ctenophora, Cnidaria, Myxozoa
  • Lophotrochozoa: Gastrotricha, Platyhelminthes, Rotifera, Acanthocephala
  • Mollusca 1 - Aplacophora, Polyplacophora, Tryblidia, Gastropoda
  • Mollusca 2 - Bivalvia, Cephalopoda, Scaphopoda
  • Nemertea, Sipuncula, Annelida, Ectoprocta
  • Ecdysozoa: Nematoida, Panarthropoda: Onychophora, Tardigrada
  • Arthropoda 1 - Chelicerata, Myriapoda
  • Arthropoda 2 - "Crustacea"

Teaching methods
laboratory training, drawing and describing microscopic speciemens, assign each organism to phylogenetic system
Assessment methods
Students will get the credit if:
they have maximally one absence in semester, except the case of illness, which must be announced at the Studies office
they pass successfully four tests;
they hand in complete drawings of compulsory objects (made during course).
