- After completing this course the student will be able to: understand
authentic texts/lectures on Earth science
identify the main ideas
formulate the main ideas
summarize a scientific/earth science text
interpret the information from the text/lecture
use terminology of the course topics
define the terms of the course topics
classify features
describe tables and graphs
characterize fresh water and ocean water worlds
explain causes and effects
compare and contrast using the proper linking
present the topics of the course using basic presentation techniques
apply acquired skills in academic English to new topics - Learning outcomes
