Course objectives
This course provides information on main types of non-metallic ore deposits that occurr in the Czech Republic, geological context of their formation, deposit structure, and extent and environmental impact of their mining. Special attantion will be paid to economic importance and use of non-metallic ores.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course, students will be able to: - understand and explain characteristics of main types of non-metalic raw materials which are mined in the Czech Republic. - explain main geological characteristics of each deposit type - understand mining extent and economic importance - environmental impact of mining.

Teaching methods
lecture + excersise The course can be taught (in case of specific circumstances) either online or in 2 blocks.
Assessment methods
Requirement for admission to the exam - answering 3 online tests during the semester, with minimum score of 50 % from each test. Exam will be in written form, for ca. 60 minutes.
