- Course objectives
- Organization and function in microbial cell. Cell and living cycle. Microbial growth. The effect of environment on microbial growth. Nutritional requirements of microorganisms. Energetic metabolism of chemoorganotrophs. Energetic metabolism of chemolithotrophs. Energetic metabolism of photosynthetic bacteria. Biosynthesis. Regulation of metabolism. Genetic information. Mutation and mutagens. Genetic recombination in bacteria. Cange genetic information of yests. Microbial communities. Trophic chain and flow of energy. Microorganisms as geochemical agents. Soil and water as stand of microorganisms. Cycles of phosphorus, carbon, oxygen, nitrogen and sulphur. Exploitation of microorganisms in industry. The classification of bacteria,yeast and moulds. Microbial diseases.

Genetics of yeasts. Extrachromosomal heredity. Microbial communities. Trophic chain and energy flow. Microorganisms as geochemical agents. Soil and water as stand of microbes.
